Trying to configure G25 wheel on W10

Hi guys,
I'm having a couple of issues trying to set up an old G25 wheel to play a couple of racing games on Supermodel, in particular Sega Rally 2 as I want to see how it plays compared to real hardware as Sega Rally 2 had issues the last time I tried it a while back.
Windows 10
Logitech profiler v5.10/127
I'm almost there but have a couple of issues.
I'm unable to assign buttons in the Config setup using the G25 buttons, it doesn't register any presses at all. So, I used Logitech Profiler and assigned keystrokes to shift up/shift down/handbrake/view change and now those assigned button are OK. No idea how to assign keystrokes to the gear lever as I can't seem to see how to do that.
I calibrated pedals and they do work, but when I lift off the gas, the brake comes on. I tried selecting 'Report Combined Pedals' in Logitech Global Settings but when trying to calibrate it gives a calibration error.
It probably is a user error and nothing to do with Supermodel, but can someone help me sort this out? Is there a specific version of profiler and/or Supermodel that is known to work without any hassles?
Thanks.
